Mid-Autumn Festival for the orphans

On Sep 10th, at the little house called the Annunciation Shelter, Binh Tan District, Ho Chi Minh City had wonderfully a busy autumn evening, filled with laughter called "Warm Moonlit Night".  The program organized by Kent International College and Infoworld students.  Pham Bich Tram Nguyen, Miss Talent in 2010- a Business Diploma student of Kent International College participated in the charity program in the role of the Moon Sister.

Autumn Festival is an opportunity for adults to show love for children. The students were sympathetic with the less fortunate and wanted to share some joy and love with the children. At 5:30pm the program began, the atmosphere stirred up by the enthusiasm and liveliness of the Rabbit Ngoc Nhu Thi Van Anh (Miss Kent 2011).

Loosing her mother when she was twelve years old, Miss Talent Bich Tram could understand  and is empathetic to the situation of children. Tram often goes to charity in many places, Tram just wanted to share with those less fortunate circumstances. “ I am doing charity as much as I can with all my heart to help the children. " Bich Tram shared.

To warm up the moonlit night, Mr. John Talbot _Executive Director of Kent International College gave a rendition to the children of the song Old Macdonald had a Farm. The program also had many other activities like magic, puppetry, singing and dancing. In response to feelings of the siblings, the children at the shelters also contributed to the repertoire, the children gave a paper fashion design show, they danced and sang a beautifully sad song.

The most exciting moment was when the lanterns were lit and given out and the moon cake was passed around.  On this occasion many other gifts and cash was given by the students in appreciation.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Cu, shelter representative, said “Every child here has a different situation.  They have lost their family, then come and live here together as a family under one roof.  It is so precious that the youth know how to love and share with the children”. She would like to thank the kindness of the students and school team. “I wish everyone health, and success” she added
